Comicpalooza 2011
June 7th, 2011Another year, another Comicpalooza, another chance to meet and talk to folks I respect as well as get some of their art to take home with me. Love it!

April 2nd, 2010Comicpalooza 2010? Awesome!
March 30th, 2010This past weekend I went to Comicpalooza, and had an amazing time. Definitely looking forward to what next year’s con has to offer…
The biggest thrill for me was getting the chance to meet a number of artists I’d followed for years, and in a couple cases get them to draw something for me:
Still kicking myself for not asking David Mack for a sketch – have to take care of that next time!
Doodle Time! (19-Feb-2010)
March 26th, 2010So, a couple weeks ago I fired up my geriatric tablet PC and started to doodle while the kiddos watched a movie. Both of them were pretty interested in what was going on, so I asked Cole what I should draw and he and I came up with the picture below:
And McKenna took a swing at it herself:
I don’t draw nearly as much as I used to, so needless to say the whole thing was pretty fun to do. Hopefully we can make this a semi-regular thing and I can post the results when I get a chance.
The nitty gritty, for those that care:
- The tablet is a Compaq TC1100, which makes for a decent (though laggy) poor man’s Cintiq 12WX. Mmm… Cintiq…
- The program I’m running is the demo version of ArtRage 2.5, though if this becomes a regular thing I’ll definitely be springing for the full version. A very natural way to draw on a computer.
