PureText

So, if you’re a piece of software with more than one word in your name and a space between those words, does that make you uncool? If so, then I’ve got another cool piece of software to share with you: PureText.

Here’s the situation – you’re copying stuff from a website, or an email, or whatever to paste into another document. Unfortunately, whenever you try and paste it into the program of your choice, it comes complete with a lot of formatting garbage you really coud do without. Enter PureText. This little app lives in your system tray and allows you to paste only the text (sans formatting) that you’ve copied with a simple click. It’s just that easy! You can even set it up to use a keyboard shortcut (I use windows-v) rather than clicking on the icon to get PureText to do its thing.

Best of all – yep, you guessed it – it’s free. Enjoy!

SpaceMonger

I’ve been meaning to do something like this for a long time, so let’s see if I can keep up with it. Basically, this is just a way for me to share any cool “techie” (geeky, whatever ;)) stuff I run across.

First up to bat: SpaceMonger

Ever wonder where all your disk space has gone? This is a great way to find out. SpaceMonger shows you an intuitive (and colorful) view of how all your disk space if being used – or mis-used. Not only that, it’s free! And as we all know, free doesn’t suck. 😀
