Time flies when you have a baby…

You’ve asked for it. You’ve begged for it! You’ve even lost countless nights of sleep waiting for it!!!

Or not. 😉

Regardless, I’ve finally gotten off my butt (and then proceeded to put my butt in the chair in front of the ‘puter) and put some more pictures of McKenna out on the site. Here you go! She’s doing great and continues to be our primary source of entertainment. Her bag of tricks now includes:

  • Sticking everything within reach into her mouth
  • Talking constantly (we’re still working on translating at this point…)
  • Smiling – especially when she’s complimented
  • Rolling thither and yon, but not quite all the way over
  • Impersonating Jackie Chan – kicks a plenty!
  • Standing (more or less) as long as she has someone to help balance her. You’d think she’d wait until she’d learned to crawl first…In other news of note, the Walrus (our 1949 Cheverolet) came back from the shop yesterday and it’s running like a champ. 😀 After a long overdue wash and wax (yes, to the car) we all piled in for a trip through the neighborhood to see how many heads we could turn. Very cool. 😎
  • Better late than never…

Did I say I’d be posting new pictures of McKenna soon? Oops! Here they are – a little late, but none the worse for wear. Hopefully the next batch won’t be too long in getting here…

In other news of the McKenna kind:

  • She’s discovered how to work her kick n’ play bouncer. Now that she’s learning how to entertain herself, we have a bit more time to ourselves. Honestly, though, we just watch her play now. 😀
  • We’re getting her hooked on TV early. Educational TV, that is. Picked up all the Baby Einstein collection and she really enjoys ’em.
  • Bath time is a lot less traumatic (for everyone involved) and I’d almost say she’s starting to enjoy it. Of course, that may just be because afterwards she gets to stare at herself in the mirror while she’s getting dried off. Portent of things to come?
  • The holy grail of sleeping through the night is almost in our grasp. Sometimes she does, sometimes she doesn’t, and sometimes she REALLY doesn’t. :O
  • Baron thinks she’s old enough to pet him. Of course, he also thinks that any of her blankets we leave laying out are his blankets. Go fig. That’s it for now (What, you want more?!). Check back again for more updates. Same bat time. Same bat place. And as soon as I figure out what those are, I’ll be the first to know. 😉
  • Who’s your Dada?

I’m ridiculously happy to announce the arrival of McKenna Joanne Tanner at 3:08pm today. McKenna weighed in at a dainty nine pounds and stands (well, she’s not standing just yet…) 21 inches tall. Both mother and child are doing great. Dad, on the other hand, is in sore need of some sleep. 😉

    Happy Halloween!

    Happy Halloween!

As usual, I’m way behind on updates. Good news, though: Just stumbled on this great piece of code called Greymatter and I’m in the process of converting this page over to use it. Pretty slick way to go about it, if you ask me. Once everything’s in place it should be a lot easier for me to keep this information “fresh”.

In more important news, Jean and our daughter-to-be are doing well as the due date quickly approaches. One more month (or so) to go!
